The River Forest Fire Department would like to remind residents when changing your clocks today, check the operation of your smoke alarms. More and more smoke alarms are now being supplied with 10 year batteries and the need to change the battery is not needed. However, the smoke alarm still needs to be tested regularly on a monthly basis. If your smoke alarm does not have a 10 year battery, continue to change your battery when you change your clocks.
