The Village has been informed by numerous residents that they have received telephone solicitations from individuals representing that they are part of the River Forest Fire Department. These calls are often asking for donations to help local firefighters. Neither the Village nor the Fire Department is involved in or condones this action and firefighters are not allowed to participate in solicitations of this type. Any individuals giving money should always be sure to understand who they are giving to, and know that this organization has no Village affiliation. Contributions should be made freely and openly on the basis of an informed choice.
