River Forest, IL – The River Forest Police Department wants to inform our residents that the Federal Trade Commission has marked the week of January 31 through February 4, 2022, as Identity Theft Awareness Week. The Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) has been identified by the U.S Department of Justice as an official support resource for the public.
The Identity Theft Resource Center was established as a national non-profit in 1999, and they provide identity theft recovery and prevention services at no cost. The ITRC is a resource for businesses and individuals alike and can be reached online or via phone. The ITRC is supported by many major corporations and the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime.
