Dear River Forest Residents,

COVID-19 Update

Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced today that COVID-19 resurgence mitigations will take effect in Region 10 (Suburban Cook County, including River Forest) beginning on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

These additional restrictions are being implemented after Region 10 has had eight consecutive days of increases in test positivity and seven days of increased hospital admissions. These sustained increases exceed the thresholds set for establishing mitigation measures under the state's Restore Illinois Resurgence Plan.

Restrictions that will go into effect at 12:01AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 for Region 10, including River Forest, are the following:

No indoor dining or bar service
Outdoor dining and bar service permitted until 11PM
Tables must be six feet apart
No standing or congregating indoors or outdoors while waiting for a table or exiting
Reservations required for each party
No seating of multiple parties at one table
In-person gatherings, indoor or outdoor, limited to 25 individuals
Indoor gatherings limited to the fewer of 25 individuals or 25% room capacity

According to the CDC, preventative measures - wearing a mask, social distancing and washing your hands - remain the most effective ways that you can help slow the spread of COVID-19 so that River Forest can play, work, learn, live, and shop safely. Project Status Update – Street Patching

Work on the Village’s 2020 Asphalt Street Patching Project that was scheduled for today, Monday, October 26, was canceled due to weather. Work is now rescheduled for Tuesday, October 27, weather permitting. New locations will be milled and filled during this time. All patches that were previously open have now been filled. In the event of inclement weather such as rain, the work may be delayed and rescheduled for a future date accordingly. Please drive carefully and proceed with caution in and around construction zones.
