According to ComEd, approximately 119 River Forest customers remain without power. ComEd crews are working to restore all customers as quickly as possible.
The following information was posted on ComEd’s Facebook page: “Our current estimate is that all customers will be restored by 3PM on Saturday, August 15. We recommend customers take whatever steps they feel necessary to keep themselves and their families safe during this time. Our employees are working around the clock and mutual assistance crews are coming in from other states to help restore power. We will share information with our customers, such as outage causes and estimated times of restoration, as soon as they are available. Please continue to report your power outages at ComEd.com/Report or by calling 1800-334-7661 and dialing 1.”
The Village is working closely with our ComEd representative to ensure that this is the worst case scenario and that power is restored in our community as soon as possible. Residents should make accommodations to prepare for multiple days of loss of power. The Village is monitoring this situation closely and will provide updates as they become available.
Please continue to track ComEd’s website for outages and updates.
In order to help those residents that do not have power and are working from home and need WiFi/internet, the Village has arranged with the River Forest Township and Community Center to allow residents to use the River Forest Community Center located at 8020 Madison from 8am to 5pm free of charge. Please remember to bring a mask and a driver license or a government ID. For information please call 708-771-6159 ext 200. Big thanks to the River Forest Township and River Forest Community Center.
