Dear River Forest Residents,

Phase 4

Tomorrow, Friday, June 26, 2020, marks the beginning of Phase 4 for the State of Illinois under Governor Pritzker’s reopening plan, Restore Illinois.

To date River Forest has had a total of 61 cases, and unfortunately one death. Please remember to stay safe, wear masks, practice social distancing, wash your hands, and stay home if you are sick or at high risk.

If you are in need of a face covering and unable to make your own, or are a senior or an older adult in need of additional services, such as grocery shopping or pharmacy pick up, then please call our River Forest COVID19 Senior Response Team at 708-613-1642.

Village Hall Operations

Village Hall operations will change during Phase 4, starting on Monday June 29, 2020.

Virtual Village Hall will continue to be available Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Village Hall lobby and customer service windows will reopen to the public on Monday, June 29 and will be available Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm. People entering will continue to be required to wear a mask or face covering.
Senior residents and vulnerable individuals needing to do business without leaving their homes can call Village Hall for assistance at 708-366-8500.
The exterior drop-box is available and the Village Hall lobby is open for drop off & pickup.
All meetings held with in-person attendance will be limited to 50% room capacity and may not exceed 50 people. All Village Board and Commission meetings will continue to be offered to the public virtually during Phase 4.

Resolution Affirming the Village of River Forest’s Principles Regarding the Relationship Between the Community and Law Enforcement

The Village Board of Trustees and I passed Resolution 20-10 to affirm the Village’s principles regarding the relationship between the community and law enforcement. I encourage every River Forest resident to read this resolution.

Additionally, if you have not done so already during our first forum on Wednesday June 24, I encourage you to join the conversation with our Police Department. The second Policing and Social Justice Public Forum will live-stream on Facebook Live on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 6pm.
