Join the Village of River Forest as we proudly commemorate the 100th Annual Memorial Day Parade and community celebration on Monday, May 26, 2025. This cherished event honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
A key moment of the day is the Memorial Day Honor Roll, a heartfelt tribute recognizing veterans and active-duty service members following the parade. Residents are encouraged to nominate individuals who have served or are currently serving in the military to be honored during this meaningful ceremony. Parade, Ceremony, and Business Bash
Hosted in partnership with the River Forest Park District, the Kiwanis Club of River Forest–Oak Park, and the Oak Park–River Forest Chamber of Commerce, the Memorial Day Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Augusta Street. The route continues south on Ashland and west on Lake Street, concluding at Keystone Park with a community ceremony and free hot dog lunch for all attendees.
This event draws thousands of residents each year and features over 100 community groups, organizations, and local leaders.
*Please Note: A “No Siren Zone” will be in effect from Augusta Street to Iowa Street to accommodate sensitive attendees.

NEW: Memorial Day Business Bash
Following the parade and ceremony, the Oak Park–River Forest Chamber of Commerce will host the Memorial Day Business Bash, a new street fair celebrating local and veteran-owned businesses. This exciting event will take place near the parade’s end point and will feature vendor booths, live music, food trucks, and family-friendly fun.
Business Bash Hours: 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Vendor Setup: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Local and veteran-owned businesses are encouraged to participate! Vendor spots include a 6-foot table and two chairs, plus marketing support from the Chamber and Village.
