The Village of River Forest is a welcoming community for all residents, businesses and visitors, and does not condone any hateful speech or discrimination. After a recent incident between two business owners where these types of interactions took place, the Police Department has now made an arrest after reviewing new video footage published by a local news outlet. The Police Department will continue to investigate any hateful or discriminatory actions and pursue all appropriate charges.
August 28, 2024 Update: The offender has been charged with a misdemeanor, and is due to appear before the court next on September 20. All evidence in the case has been provided to the Cook County State's Attorney for their review and investigation. Ultimately, the Cook County State's Attorney Felony Review Board will make the decision whether to upgrade the charges to a felony.
