River Forest residents are invited to participate on the Deer Management Ad Hoc Committee. The Village President will appoint up to eleven members to the committee, plus two co-chairs, with advice and consent of the Board of Trustee at the Village Board meeting Monday, February 24th.
The purpose of the committee is to:
- Draft a community survey and review results
- Research alternative ways to manage/reduce deer conflicts
- Plan at least one community forum to educate residents on the importance of a deer management program
- Prepare a written report with the Committee’s findings and recommendations to the Village President and Board of Trustees regarding deer management strategies to use in the Village.
Schedule/Time Commitment:
- Committee work will take place the end of February to the end of September
- The first committee meeting is Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00 pm at Village Hall, 1st Floor Community Room
- Subsequent meeting dates TBD
- Some reading/research expected outside of meeting times.
