Recently, the River Forest Police Department has become aware of an uptick in possible burglary and/or theft activity in the area north of Augusta Street and west of Jackson Avenue between approximately midnight and 3:00am. There have been reports of an unknown subject(s) checking for open or unlocked garages and vehicles. Residents in this area should expect to see an increase in marked and unmarked patrols in the coming week.
The River Forest Police Department would like to remind our residents to secure their property and take advantage of their existing security measures such as exterior lighting, alarm systems, and security cameras. Be vigilant and call the police if you see or hear anything suspicious.
