Tornado Siren Information
From time to time, our area experiences severe weather. The dispatch center receives information from the National Weather Service when storms are approaching our area.
Twice this season, we have had to activate the severe weather sirens for a funnel cloud sighting and/or a tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service. In the event that the sirens are activated, we ask that all residents seek appropriate shelter and keep track of updates via a NOAA weather radio, smart phone, local news channel, or follow watches and warnings at www.weather.gov. Unless you have an emergency, we ask that you refrain from calling 911 after we have activated the sirens. During a storm the dispatch center is extremely busy and these can increase the volume of calls during an already busy time. The Dispatch Center thanks residents for their cooperation and wishes them all a safe summer.
The sirens are tested on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am.
